Navigating Singlehood: A Job Hunt Journey and Global Exploration
No one talks about the life of being single. Often, I feel bored and lonely, not because of a lack of socializing but because my relationships with others seem superficial. Conversations feel repetitive, revolving around asking each other how we are without delving deeper.
But fear not! I have a solution. You’re probably puzzled by my writing style, but I have a plan for myself. Over the next six months, I’ll focus on my job hunt. However, this doesn’t mean I’ll isolate myself.
Instead, I’ll host boba and movie nights for my friends to gather and work on job applications together. This approach will not only benefit me but also provide insights to my friends about the job market. Surprisingly, I was asked about my typing speed during one application, highlighting the need for such preparation.
I’ll continue applying and working on applications, but I won’t push myself too hard. It’s unnecessary to make this experience dreadful, especially given the current economic uncertainties and frequent layoffs.
On a positive note, I believe this opportunity will bring us closer together. We’ll spend more time exploring ourselves, discovering new hobbies, cooking homemade meals, and reading. These are activities I personally enjoy, but I encourage you to tailor them to your preferences.
Furthermore, I want to share my intrinsic fascination with traveling and teaching English abroad. Immersing myself in different cultures while contributing to communities abroad is something I’m eager to pursue. If I don’t enjoy it, I can always return home after a year. During my time abroad, I hope to build connections, invest in the local community, and embrace the fundamentals of a new culture.
In summary, I’m at the initial stage of my job hunt. Journaling and blogging about this journey not only help me process my thoughts but also make me consider the nuances of the job search, especially amidst the pressure of post-college expectations.
